Every character has a story. There is nothing wrong with it. It need not be gotten rid of or dismissed in any way. It makes for good conversation when a conversation is necessary...

However, the character and the story are fictitious.

They are not what you are, and like a night-dream, never really happened at all.

Let's try some Nondual pointing...

Find out, what 'is' before the character and story seemingly happened.

Within 'what' does the character appear?

What allows the character to 'be'?

Then your true nature, which is always present, may reveal Itself.
