Mind is empty
The mind is empty—not because nothing exists, but because nothing in it is ‘me’ or ‘mine. ’The mind is only a stream of causes unfolding, a meeting of bare knowing and mental constructions.
Mind is made of momentary events:
Form (visual, sound, smell, taste, touch, memory-imagery)
Feeling
Perception
Mental formation
Consciousness
These five aggregates arise together to stage what we call “mind.”
Mind = consciousness (bare knowing) + mental formation (thinking, reacting, creating stories)
So among these fleeting events, which one can truly be called “me” or “mine”?
