As regards the word Soul-friend in different cultures, in Japanese there is the word “Shin-yu” (心友), literally “heart-friend”. It is not as commonly used as the more colloquial “Tomodachi” (友達) or formal “Yu-jin” (友人). It is also not used in a ‘Spiritual’ context, rather it is reserved for someone with whom you share a deep heartfelt connection, and unspoken bond, and have done for many years. Soul mates but not in any romantic sense.

Yes, the craving more 'authentic' relationships as we realise how much we've been pretending to get along our whole life! As Charlotte Joko Beck puts it, we've been living a "substitute life". Now in alignment with our true Self, its like life starts properly from here! That's not to say there are not still challenges, as old patterns still pop up. Just to more and more subtle degrees. We just see them so clearly now, say 'hi', and let them dissipate without fuss.

I'd never heard of a Claddagh ring! But you are right in its connection to Anam Cara. Wonderful to hear of your Scottish heritage also. I wonder if other such rings exist in other cultures with a similar meaning...?

Oh, that’s amazing, Natalie. Is that Feng Shui? I felt the urge to get a pair about 15 years ago after hearing Eckhart Tolle using them in his talks. If you watch his YT videos they always start with this sound and he keeps them on the table beside him. They mainly sit on my shelf as an ornament so I should perhaps use them too!

Glad you liked that, Julie. Here's another interesting thing about this sound... Is it any coincidence that these Tibetan Chimes (Yes, they are the same ones that Eckhart Tolle uses) produce a very similar sound?
